About

ANUVRAT GLOBAL ORGANIZATION, also known as ANUVRAT VISHVA BHARATI in Hindi with its widely publicized acronym ‘ANUVIBHA’, is a non-profit socio-cultural organization dedicated to peace and nonviolent action. It seeks to popularize the ANUVRAT MOVEMENT which attempts to cultivate self-discipline among the people by persuading them to commit themselves to the observance of small or basic vows (Anuvrats) embedded in ahimsa or nonviolence.

anuvrat about

Anu means small or basic and vrat means a vow. It is the only movement of its kind in the world that seeks to rejuvenate moral and spiritual values through individual commitment to basic vows, the degeneration of which is at the root of violence, hatred, religious fundamentalism and conflicts that mark the world today.

The ANUVRAT MOVEMENT launched by Late His Holiness Acharya Tulsi in 1949 has since inspired millions of people to practise purity and self-discipline in personal life. The ultimate aim of the movement is to create a nonviolent socio-political world order with the help of a worldwide network of self-transformed people. His Holiness Acharya Mhapragaya, successor to late His Holiness Acharya Tulsi, is continuing the lofty tradition now. Under his dynamic leadership, the ANUVRAT MOVEMENT fortified with the two new dimensions in the form of Preksha Meditation and Jivan Vigyan (Science of Living) is slowly widening its base attracting a large number of people from all parts of the world.

Founded in December 1982, mainly to carry the message of ANUVRAT beyond the frontiers of India, ANUVIBHA has steadily grown in size and stature. It has created a worldwide network of thousands of people spread in many countries, who like us, believe that all conflicts should be resolved through nonviolent strategies. One of its aims is to extend support to U.N. and its agencies in their endeavourer to achieve world peace. It is our pleasure to announce that Anuvibha has officially been approved by United Nations for association with its Department of public Information. It has also been recognized as an actor of the worldwide campaign Promoting a culture of peace and nonviolence led by UNESCO.

Anuvibha’s registered office as well as its international center is at Jaipur. At Rajsamand near Udaipur (Rajasthan) it maintains Vishva Shanti Nilayam (Global Peace Palace) dedicated to children and lovers of peace through ahimsa (nonviolence). It is an ideal retreat for peace of mind and self-transformation.

The three important projects being organized at Rajsamand are : BALODAYA which imparts training to children in basic values of life and ahimsa in a natural environment, RASHTRIYA ANUVRAT SHIKSHAK SANSAD, a National Parliament of Teachers committed to Anuvrat (basic vows) which infuses into children a desire to live the good moral life rooted in discipline and self-restraint and GRAMODAYA which works for improving the quality of life in villages. The Global Peace Palace at Rajsamand is situated on top of a hill overlooking a lake called Rajsamand which is also the name of the district. It lies sixty kilometers to the east of Udaipur.
